  • Provided in our classes: 17 class sessions which include 30 hours of WA State curriculum and 4 hours of Driver Awareness Training, 5 hours of driving, and 1 hour student observation. Additional hours of observation (of another student’s drive) are free and encouraged.
  • A parent information session will be held on Zoom.
  • We strongly encourage a parent or guardian to ride along on at least one driving lesson.
  • Minimum course length is 5 weeks and all classroom and driving requirements must be completed within 4 months (or extended with a fee). Students are allowed to miss and make up a maximum of 3 classes. Please keep extra-curricular activities and travel plans in mind before registering for a teen course to ensure proper attention can be given toward this course.
  • A driving permit is required before the first lesson. Students can get their permit up to 10 days before the start date of class.
  • Driving lessons are held outside of classroom meeting times and will extend beyond the end of the classroom portion of the course. Students and parents are encouraged to schedule lessons using our scheduling system, Schedule Agent.
  • Upon completion of the course, an electronic certificate will be reported to the Department of Licensing. This process takes up to 2 weeks.
  • Most of our communication is through email and cell phone notifications. When registering, please provide a regularly checked email address and cell phone numbers for both student and parent.

I have very high test anxiety and I let them know that and they were amazing before I took the test they answered all on my questions and they were very thorough. My test instructor was Katrina. She was very sweet and made me feel very comfortable enough that I was able to pass on the first try.

First off David Montz guy is the best teacher i’ve ever had. Very respectful but humorous and teaches the lesson but we have fun as we learn. I seriously recommend this place for any kid wanting their license and just hope you get David Montz as your teacher.

Dave Montz with the beard, has continued to be a great instructor all throughout the class. I dread the day that this class ends, Dave makes the class fun while also being extremely informational! Amazing instructor and driving school!

Folks, let me tell you - driving with my son was a really jaw-grinding, white-knuckled experience… until we signed him up for classes here, and his instructor (DAVID), turned things around 180 degrees! He passed his test last week and I really credit David’s help. I recommend this school, and David especially!

Where to start about Defensive Driving school. Everyone was so friendly and made the process so easy and seemless. My teenager was very very nervous about driving and reluctant to start. However he immediately warmed up to his instructor David, and after his first day, his fear of driving seemed to have completely evaporated, he was even excited to get to drive again!Great people, great price, and no BS. I cannot recommend this place enough.

My class instructor, Jason, is a very good teacher. He gets the knowledge across while being very helpful and funny. The school has been very understanding of my situation and I can't express how much I appreciate it.
